It's 3 degree AM 9:00 （31/10/2009)
Last week, it's hot as minimum 9 degree, because it's rain. Today it's good but decrease temperature immediately. I've used no finger cover grove. Of course I felt cold at first, but it's only first 5 minutes. Of course, I have to search finger covered grove for the winter.
Last year, I looked Japanese bike magazine Fun-Ride showed how to use winter bike wear, then one bike shop worker in Tokyo showed some of style. But it's not correct, because these were are designed for strongly cold European winter, for example most hard were is match with minus -10 degree level in north part Europe like Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. I think it's not better for warm winter in Tokyo.

I asked Deutsche Bank if it was over than monthly limit. It's correct. I can imagine, because I paid flight ticket for Japan, Hotel in Como, rental car and some of books in this month. And bank woman said my limit is Euro 2000 per month. It's not enough, and she agreed. Therefore I asked her to change limit and she accepted.
I'm surprising how I didn't use over than Euro 2000 in Aug 2007 when I had to go for Munich every week.

My baggage hasn't come. So I called one guy in Prague, but he didn't catch phone. Therefore I called his mobile, but there is sound from child. And he said that he is far from Prague about 300km and he suggested one guy to contact him.
And I called him but I sounds he didn't know this issue. May be that guy didn't any action.

Japanese drive licence holder can get German driver licence automatically after resident registration. And also German driver's licence holder can get Japanese driver licence automatically. It's same as all wester EU area. Because driver education and check system is well constructed each other.
I searched some web sites. Some people change from foreign country driver's licence to Japanese driver licence because of cheap cost. The total cost in German is about Euro 2000 and it's not good. Usually they got licence in the USA or Canada. But they have to pass examination of drive and rule. Is it making sense?
And these web sites said a lot of driver failed at narrow road drive to lost wheel to out side. It's unbelievable. May be it's easy for all European driver's licence holder. Therefore European doesn't need examination and American needs examination? Because there are a lot of narrow road in the Europe. So they trained very well compare with USA.

The I asked one optical guy "Now there is international meeting and our German colleague is in. May be Mr. Y is participating this meeting. Did you listen any information from him?" Actually Mr. Y didn't back to office at coffee break. And he saw other participants looks tired at lunch time.
It means only even morning session in first day was tough. So I expected this situation, because Martin claimed a lot. So, I'm happy because I wouldn't translate these kind of issue. Can you imagine Tokyo side glares down translator not actual speaker.
Important issues to life in Germany （26/10/2009)
are car, house, telephone, internet and cable TV to have to make contract. There is not any Gas type kitchen in Germany. And water and electricity are included cost of house, and it's corrected at each end of year.
Especially, it's tough to find automatic transmission car in Germany, because majority is stick shift car. One of colleague bought his car in Bremen where is far from Hamburg roughly 100km. And a lot of person can't decide house, because their expected level will be higher step by step. And also Telecom is not good in general. Therefore one German person takes care these issues in our company.
She said to me "You are easy" Because I can drive stick shift car. I went for used car shop, and select best condition car from some of same configuration cars. And I decided to take over one flat from other Japanese colleague. She had to take care only contract issue. Both of car and house issues finished only half day.
Drive in Germany part 4 （26/10/2009)
I think Germany is easiest country to drive a car in the Europe. Because German driver keeps role. Basically they don't pass car from right side in motor way. And they slow down speed at limited area even they drove car over 200km/hour before.
For example, if you would like to left turn to go for shop at opposite side, and you stop to wait on the road, basically German driver don't claim by horn. But Italian driver claims immediately.
Of course, German driver does strange behaviour for me.
The signal is front of junction in the Europe. The indication of signal means if you could go or couldn't go at signal point. Therefore you can go into junction after you passed signal point even signal changed to Red after your passing. This rule occurs one problem. A lot of German driver go into junction even strong traffic jam without notice if he could pass before signal changing. And a lot of car ties up crossed traffics in the junction. Of course a lot of German driver looks forward and don't go into junction.

Other Japanese colleague who was in Hamburg before, said a lot of German speaks English compare with before. Especially I can't use English in some kinds of special shop. Before, I had to use German at VonHact when I bought tube and tyre. So I prepared English and German list which part I'd like to buy in advance.
I asked to a shop assistance. He can speak English little. After my request, he started to put order sheet. But there is not Time pedal and SanMrco saddle. At first he asked to buy Look. But I requested to search time. Then he looks hectic. Therefore he called chief assistant. He can speak English very well and he followed my requests. Actually he couldn't find Concol light, but he said "It's possible to order, now there is not price, but we can fix price by cutting less than Euro 100 like this. Do you agree?"
And I explained my special request about break. Because European uses right lever for rear brake. But I like to use right lever for front brake. He asked a reason of it and understood because I'm wear of these riding style and it's better to common style as motorcycle. He writ this notice in order sheet.

My Shimagnolo is （25/10/2009)
synclonizing perfectly. I think it's best solution if you like ErgoPower. Because it's possible to use perfect Shimano drive train performance with Ergo Power. And also it's possible to dominate all wheel. And I don't do any special wiring set-up. So I expect life time is same as normal Campagnolo set up.
I think may be Campagnolo designed rear derailer to use like this as hidden special function. For example national team has to support Shimano and Campagnolo user. But it's tough to prepare for both.
And I found that Campagnolo rear derailer has backlash. So I think it's solution of Campagnolo to absolve shifting backlash. But it's not sporty.
And comparison in-between Ergo Power and STI part 7
Ergo Power has good face, for example it uses carbon material as ornament. But I like out looking of STI also. It has precision instrument atmospherics. I think that Campagnolo mania says "It's Campagnolo" if Campagnolo launch same looking products as 78 type Dura Ace chain ring and crank.

The right side priority rule doesn't cover even right side road available if it came from hose, farm and forest. May be you can understand it by availability of breakdown lane.
Right turn on red signal.
This is major difference in-between Europa and USA. You can't turn right with red signal. But you can turn right even red signal with check if this indication is available.
To take care bicycle when turn right
Especially German driver keep this rule. Therefore bike rider doesn't mind right turn car if rider go strait. So you have to take care availability of biker when you turn right. I never seen these kind of driver who pass bike and turn right immediately to avoid direction of biker. Of course you have to keep this rule when you ride bike on car lane.
The situation with parking car and construction.
If you can't go strait by blocking some of parking car and construction like this. You have to wait oncoming car. Even it's oncoming bike, you have to wait.
City area
This indication shows the start of city area of Hamburg. From this indication you have to keep speed less than 50km/h. Especially German driver keeps this speed limit. One reason is that a lot of speed checker is available in these area.
This red line indicator said end of Hamburg city area. And it said next city area of Barsbuettel is far from here 2km. From this indication, speed limits will change as 100km/h. Of course you have to keep if there is other speed limit indication.
Passing bicycle
You have to have enough space if you pass bicycle. Don't pass bicycle with few space. Even Italian, they keeps this rule. And German biker doesn't slip through side of car like Japanese. I understand reason. Even biker slips through car, Car will pass biker immediately.

Some of Japanese will hate German, because German guy explain why he couldn't his job and why you have to do this job instead him. I think it's not only German but also all European. But Especially German explain rationale for these issue. May be traveller doesn't feel this. And also you don't feel it to work with European as business partner. You can feel it if you work with them as colleague.
Sometimes German explain why he doesn't do this job, and he back to home in the evening. And Japanese colleague do this job instead of him finally. I was happy. Because Martin said to other colleague "It's your job" when they asked me to do it instead of them. Now, I explained them that I have to do special offer and have to take care first case. But I don't take care second case, because others can take care as repeat.

This request orders to contact to Japanese researcher in France, who called sales division in Japan. But they said his request was "He can't set up software". Is it only?

They informed me final period of some of points. So I've not used this shop 2 years, and I've not gone back to Japan over than 1 year.
I will go back for Japan end of this year. Of course I will use ANA via Frankfurt airport. It's private trip. It's good timing to renew a car licence. Therefore I will not go for actual last week. That time I will be in Hamburg and work. It's good to work for my task because there is not any telephone call from Europe area.

There are automatically speed checker and automatically signal checker in Germany. It looks same.
So it emits flush light twice. If you got only one flush light, it's no problem. But if you got flush light twice, it's out. I know 3 signal checkers are available in the Hamburg city.

Usually I wake up AM 6:00, I woke up AM 7:00 finally. So it's no problem. And also the school in northern Germany is holiday in this and next week. Therefore there is not any traffic jam.

I ate Japanese lunch both of Saturday and Sunday. It's "Zoni". O brought a lot of source of Japanese type soup and Mochi when I went for Japan. I can't buy these items in Hamburg. I know it's possible to buy in London. And also I think it's possible to buy in Dusseldorf.
I saw Blog of Mr. Yamazaki who is master of famous bike shop Silbest. Exactly, a lot of rider change lane without notice even at Race in Japan. Basically German rider keep lane and look before he changes lane. I think it's strong difference in-between Japan and Europe at least Germany.
I trained to keep on the white line roughly 1 km in front of my house in Japan. The eye point is important for this. And also I trained to keep lane at famous training field 3km 3% claim in Renkoji. Now, there is good maintained road. but it's not good before maintenance. I had to ride only 60cm width course side. There are lot of trailer run and lift side was side ditch without guard.
By the way, I was taught one internet web site which is possible to watch Japanese TV program. I checked "33 minutes Detective"
And I saw Naco-san's web site. It's summer in Japan. Because a lot of spectator of triathlon race in Odaiba wear half sleeve shirt. Now it's 5 degree out of my flat in PM 10. A lot of German wears coat or jacket now.

tu buy lump. It in bathroom was broken. I think it's weak compare with Japan.
I tried to use fluorescent lump which is sold in IKEA. But it's not bright, and I changed to candescent lamp. Today I checked fluorescent lump again, but it's made by Oslam which is very famous lump manufacture. It looks bright, and bout it. I think it has enough brightness. Should be, it's better to change to this type lump in my flat. I can keep cost, and also don't take care spare lump.
Even Haneda airport will be international hub （16/10/2009)
The position of Narita airport will not change, because both of airport don't have enough slot. They have to separate a lot of international flight. May be, the position of Haneda international will be expensive flight like London City airport, and Narita will be like Heathrow. Or I think it's better that Chitose will be one of hub, and passenger can flight to Haneda or Kansai.
And other possibility is that Narita and Haneda focus on passenger flight, and other airport will support cargo. For example Shizuoka airport has good orientation for Tokyo and Narita. But it doesn't have enough length runway for Boeing 747 cargo.

It will be too cold in this winter. It's not information from official weather forecast, is only my expectation. Last year, minimum temperature in Hamburg was -15 degree. But Hamburg is warmer than other area in Germany. In general, southern area is warmer than southern and western area because of temperature function of north sea.

Day by day, Sun rise time is changing later and later. Now it's AM 7:44 in Hamburg when is after than arrival time to the office. Especially at higher area in the Europe, the difference in-between winter and summer is large. Therefore we can realize the sun rise time and sun set time is changing in this month.
It's maximum 9 and minimum 1 degree in Hamburg. So it's colder than Asahikawa and Wakkanai. So I realize why I felt cold when I ride bile in the Monday evening to take picture of some of road indicator. Then I didn't use grove. And I have to reserve to change tyre to winter type. Do you know there is regulation in Germany to use correct equipment. But Hamburg is better than inner Germany area.
By the way, I checked shipment status of my buttery which I bought from Amazon. Is it received last Thursday at office? Therefore I called DHL customer service. Of course it's not direct, They ask something "Please push 1 for domestic and push 3 for international shipment" and "Please push 1 for express shipment and push 3 for normal shipment" Of course, it's German language, but I can understand these easy German.
Then I asked them "Can you speak English？ Ne？ Haven Sie Einglish screecher?" How it's broken German, and "Haven Sie" is universal word! But domestic division person couldn't speak English and cut line. Therefore I ring international division and ask to connect English speaker. They connected to correct person. And I got the name who received in our reception.
Do you know there is these kind of difficulty that I have to talk not only English but also German. For me, it's one of good point of USA that they can live only by using English.

Will my bike be junked 3 types component, if I use Sram for Crank or front derailer? I wouldn't like to use other company product without Shimano for 3 key drive part chain ring, gear cassette and chain. My bike Look KG281 is already funny bike, because pedal of it is not Look.

Comparison between Ergo Power and STI part 6 brake lever （12/10/2009)
Some fanatic Campagnolo mania says that they are afraid to shift gear when he pull brake lever with STI. No, it's not real. I've never done these mistake. The shift lever function is not too light to do these mistake.
79 Dura Ace has some backlash compare with 78 Dura Ace, because 79 STI rotate gear shifter via connecting mechanism. This mechanism has small backlash. It's only new type STI characteristic. May be a lot of Campagnolo mania tried to use old version STI. It doesn't have backlash.

I had to select model in Stevens bike. My target was carbon model.
Top model is SLR which is launched this year. The price Euro 1500 includes special seat pillar.
The light weight model SLC is second model, but it's most expensive as Euro 1800.
The standard model is SLR. It has Stevens dedicated shift tube shape. It's Euro 1300.
I didn't interest in SLC because the shape is not special. I have normal road bike Look KG281. Therefore I decided to buy aero model SLR. Of course, I could look and check the bike at VonHact.
German traffic rule part 1 （11/10/2009)
I understand German traffic and driving rule as below. But I don't give any guarantee. Please check by yourself if you drive a car in Germany.
Right side priority
The right side var has priority at junction which are not any signal and indication. Of course the left side car has priority in the UK. Its not special rule only in Europe. Japanese driver was trained left side car priority rule in driving school. But there are some of special rule in Japan, Big width road has priority, continues center line road has priority, etc. So we faces a lot of situation that we have to realize priority in Europe.
This is priority indication.
This indication means this road has priority. I think it's same as Japan without background colour.
This indication said that you have not priority even right side. You have to check before go into junction.
The indication in-between signal and priority indication said bold line direction has priority. For example the Benz which is stopping opposite side of junction has to wait me if I will turn left in this junction.
In this picture, You have to wait if car will come from right side, because signal and any indication are not available. Especially German driver keep rule. Therefore car driver from right side doesn't take care left side in these situation. And also this rule is active not only road but also in the parking, etc.
Roundabout
This indication said roundabout. The car in the roundabout has priority. You have to wait him if other car in the roundabout come to your position when you go into roundabout. Of course passenger and biker on the cross road have priority. I heard that French roundabout is not same as Germany, but it's only city area in France, Normally the rule is same as Germany in country area.
Pedestrian crosswalk
Passernger and biker has priority on the pedestrian crosswalk. Sometimes walker start to cross without any notice to the car in Germany, because German driver keep this rule very well. Please take care other area without Germany especially Paris and London.
Turn left
There are a lot of these indication in Hamburg. It said that you have not priority please take care oncoming car.
Of course the priority is same as car, bike and hose on the road.

Next step is bike shop selection
There are some of bike shop in Hamburg. But there are only two shops which sell sport bike. Other bike shop sell not only sport bike but also city bike.
The first shop is Radsport Zentrum Hamburg. This shop sells Look, Basso, Botechia and Orbea. Wolfgang said this shop offer only Campagnolo. Actually this shop shows only Campagnolo set up bike.
Next shop is VonHact. I bought bike in this shop. This shop is main shop of Stevens bike. This shop takes care Stevens booth in the cyclassics exhibition. And also this shop takes care Stevens cycrocross team which is participating world cup.
Bot of them open till PM 3 on Saturday and close on Sunday.

It's not real comparison between Campagnolo and Shimano. Because I'm using chain, free cassette and Chain ring of Shimano. SO it's reason that I'm trying Shimanoglo.
Buy bike in Germany part 1 （09/10/2009)
I thought to buy new bike 1st year. So I've ride my bike Look KG281 roughly 10 years. But I thought to buy new bike this year, because I wait that Shimano solves every problem of new 79 Dura Ace component during northern classics races. Actually they change design of new chain connection.
I think that Japan is best country to buy any road bike. Because I never seen Trek and Pinallelo in Hamburg without cyclassics. The shop which I know sells only Stevens, Colnago, Cervelo, Seven, Time, Look, Botechia, Basso and Orbea. So German brand Focus, Cyanion, Felt and Stork which Japanese thinks typical German bike brand, is not major in Hamburg.
I decide to buy Stevens bike which manufacture is in Hamburg. And also Stevens is real fighting manufacture in cycrocross world cup. Do you know world championship winner last season uses Stevens bike?

The crescent wasn't normal type at break first of Hotel in Italy. I didn't know it's typical crescent in Italy. I think German hotel is best in break first point of view. And also I think best crescent is my neighbour bakery shop. Now shop worker knows which bakery I order every time. Therefore they start to pack when I entry shop.

I change my shirt to long sleeve type. Still now, oil heater doesn't work. So, I have to ware leg warmer during bike training already. Can you imagine? The Campagnolo made bike wear is good.
I have to make reservation to change to winter tyre. For me, it's easy. Because one tyre shop in front of our office offers us special price, and they change tyre during working time, if I bring my car in the morning.
Comparison between Ergo Power and STI part 4 skip shift （06/10/2009)
I think it's not advantages for race tool.
I checked how I had to movre lever of 78 Dura Ace to change 3 step skip shift down, when I heard that 79 Dura Ace will be changed only 2 step skip shift down. I realized that I never slip 3 step with 78 Dura Ace in this test. Roughly 98% is only one step, and rest 2% was 2 step skip shift down in my case. Especially Skip shift release of rear derailer is shift up. It's not acceptable for me to skip several step by mistake. I think procedure of STI is real racing tool's one.
I don't need skip shift. I can shift immediately if I want it because of STI. Now it's not W lever type shift changer before 1990's. And also it's not better for chain and shift speed to do skip shift. Because chain will have stress and needs time to shift compare with to shift change step by step. May be, these guy who explain skip shift is good, doesn't look forward of traffic and bike group.
Comparison between Ergo Power and STI part 3 weight （05/10/2009)
I didn't observe weight. But I felt Ergo Power is lighter than STI during set up. Some web site compare with STI and Ergo Power only in weight point of view, and decide how Ergo Power is good. But is it important? I think function is first priority. weight is not first priority in current situation as minimum bike limit and only little weight difference.

to take picture of food and menu. It helps to recognize which German mean which kind of food. Exactly, I agree that it's not good to take picture in restaurant.
And I prefer to take care sounds in German especially in the night and at the weekend. Of course it's no problem, if you live in the flat which are not German people. But it's opposite side in some of point of view.

I listen one very interesting Podcast. It's "Chinsaya" There are two radio personality Chin and Sayaka Hayashi. Therefore it's Chinsaya. Especially I like "Samenchu" corner. One personality talks about shark, because she is shark mania. But other guy is not shark mania. Therefore there is difference between them. But it's interesting.
I was surprised the price of GDR frame. The price roughly Euro 3000 is too expensive. Do you know price of my Stevens bike. It's Euro 1500 includes special seat post even top model. They sells complete cycrocross bike as Euro 1800 even world championship winning model.
