I brought Japanese visitor to the Hamburg airport today. It's tough because I've caught cold this week. It's last time to pick up and bring him because he has to do himself if he'd like to came to Hamburg as my successor, and his English is no problem because he stayed in the USA 4 years.
By the way, What is our personal resource department in Japan doing? They have enough man power? I don't think so.

Because one German colleague left our company who took care customer's questions. So I was afraid this situation, but boss thought it doesn't matter. Therefore I and Wolfgang is taking care, and Wolfgang asks me a lot of questions. Then I asked him how does he think if successor of me will not be optical engineer. His answer was that the European blanch needs optical engineer. So there are a lot of job which requests help of optical specialist.
Then he calculates how log I will stay in Hamburg in the future, as he knows every Japanese colleague will back to Japan. Of course, I'm thinking how job can able to be took over to German colleague.

to pick up Japanese visitor. Should be, he has to go for Hotel next time. He was in the USA and can speak English very well. And also there is train connection between airport and central station now. it's easy to access.
We had dinner, then he talked that many person in Tokyo, which he is includes, would like to came to hamburg as successor of me. But I think most of them doesn't match needs of European side. They don't know a lot of job which I don't report to Tokyo. I'm taking care a lot of question and am supporting a lot of strange optical request. Can you take care these kind of job? I think that my successor has to be optical engineer who can understand theoretical optics and can support a lot of service issues. Of course, I'm taking over a lot of knowledge to German colleagues, but there will be a lot of new strange request which needs optical engineer in the future.
At first my boss in Tokyo said my job period in Hamburg is 4 years. But I think it will be roughly 5 years. So, will it be good timing if he will come to Hamburg as successor?

Especially number of animation is increasing. Actually, I'd like to buy normal Japanese drama DVD like "Odoru-sosasen". But these kind of Japanese movie is not sold in the Europe. There are only horror, Ninja, Yakuza and Mr. Kurosawa's movie which European people likes and thinks as typical Japanese movie.

The DVD of Zheta Gundam came to me yesterday. But it's end part of it. Until now, first part is not dispatched because of less stock. I heard that Japanese version has good exterior, but it uses big spaces. Therefore I like English version. The price of it is Pounds 23 include shipment fee. So UK is cheapest country in the Europe. And also, I'd like to buy Hero legend of Galaxy, but English version is not launched.

For me, it's difficult to transfer from Japanese Yen in English to Euro in English. Now, It's easy to transfer from Yen in Japanese to Euro in English. So I recognize each price in digit level. Therefore, I'm requesting to Tokyo side to make presentation as US dollar in English. It's easy to translate from US dollar to Euro, because they are roughly same digit. And also, it's not same how to count number between Japan and English.

Wolfgang comes to my desk to ask me about question from customer. He was in our room before, but he is other teams manager now. Therefore he has got a lot of question about other products and has to ask me. Sometimes I give him waiting list number "You are second" Thus He came to me with card which is written as No 1. But there was other guy already. Then I gave him No.2 card. Of course I said him "Next" like till in the UK.
He asked me about strange configuration by using one product. I know this product because I designed optics of it. He asked me "Is there any product that you didn't design optics?", because he knows that I designed our team's main product and other product which is supported by his classmate in university. Of course. For example, I designed few numbers of objective lens of DSLR camera, but I designed main part of DSLR camera. Many customer asks about main part of camera because it has possibility to use several accessories. But Objective lens doesn't cause lot of questions. It's same situation as me, So I'm involved a lot of questions.

explains that pro cameraman uses telescope lens to observe good bike image in side view. This lens can observe expressed images. If you use normal range lens, the handle bar will be looked individually. And also if you use normal lens, you can look many object in the background. Therefore telephoto lens is better to this purpose. And I like to use normal lens if I observe bike from upper side.
I up dated some of pictures in my diary. I used 200mm commuted lens in this picture.
I used 40mm commuted lens in this picture.
I interest how images will be observed if I use my new wide range lens.

Head manager doesn't decide if Japanese visitor came to Hamburg. Meeting is going to next week, why doesn't he decide it? I think it's better to fix schedule as soon as possible to keep cost. Does he imagine cost of cancel? It will be expensive step by step to dead end. So we decide to bring visitor to customer site, because it will be bad manner if we cancel at the last minutes.

Today, we had 3 hours Tel meeting with Tokyo. The telephone call cut with sound of sigh from Tokyo side. So we laughed it. We have a lot of request to Tokyo, but we believe if they introduce new products which solve our request, it will be good turn over.

Yesterday, we prepared for Tel meting in next Thursday in advance. Martin said "Tokyo can read tomorrow in advance if we send it today" But Japan will be holiday tomorrow. So he said how holiday is in Japan.

Yesterday evening, I send one e-mail which order to Tokyo several requests as formal. I heard it causes tumult. Really? I don't afraid because this is formal request from Europe side and is not illegal. Therefore Tokyo confirmed to us.

Other Martin asked me. "It's sweet which is sold at Narita airport. It's soft like gumi. Insert of it is cream or chocolate etc,. Several kinds of it are in one package" Is it "Yukimi-daifuku"?. I showed homepage him, but it's not correct. What is it? Perhaps, I think it's kind of rice cake like "Daihuku" or "Yomogi-mochi".

He propose me to have meeting on Sunday. So, we will do only meeting, because any shop doesn't open on Sunday in continental Europe. He doesn't know about it, because he was in the USA, and his foreign knowledge out of Japan is based on his experience in the USA. Therefore he can't imagine even I and his boss who was in Hamburg as same position as me before, about Germany weekend situation.

Proto type rolled out 1990. Do you fell if raptor was old fashion product? I don't think so. Usually I feel it's old product if I see 20 years old design product. I think reason is that raptor was designed purely function point of view as real fighter. Do you feel bird is old design?

I caught phone at lunch time. In my office, we can look who is calling. Therefore I recognized that Andreas is calling Martinn, but he went to lunch. So I caught phone with laughing. He asked me "1 minutes later?" My answer was "3 minutes later" Why does he call Martin lunch time?

Today, we went to lunch out side of office by my car. One colleague said when I turned my car to the car parking "It's first turn, you can't look right and left" Is it mean you look right and left on the walking lane after you start to turn? Basically I check walking lane before to start turn. Isn't it normal procedure?

I put Japanese mini calendar front of PC display in my office. Because I have to care Japanese and German holiday to avoid shipping miss.
This year, German unity day 3rd of Oct will be Saturday and Boxing day 26th of Dec will be Saturday. It's pity. But this year is better than next year. In 2010, May day 1st of May will be Saturday, and 3rd of Oct and 25-26th Dec will be completely in weekend. And also the new year's day 1st Jan 2011 will be Saturday. So there will not be only 2 national holiday in May and June which is dedicated Christian church between Easter holiday of 2010 and Easter holiday of 2011!

I and Dimer talked about Judaism. And he taught me how Russian Orthodox Church separated from Judaism and Catholic Church. Now I'm reading about Roman empire story, but it's just part of Emperor Nero now. It means Catholic hadn't been national religion of Roman empire.
Of course, I had to explain him about Japanese religious sense which we select some religion in each case. I think Princes Shotoku is first person to select Japanese Shinto and Buddhism in each case. He said "Play to Japanese god and say help me to Buddha" And also Dima asked me about Bushi-do. He read book which explain Bushido is based on Confucianism. I didn't know Mr. Koshi is called Confucius in English.

Perhaps, first 200m is Mogusaen and second 300m is in Mogusa living area from the picture in his blog.
The ratio of length from saddle to bracket divided by saddle height is 97%in my bike. How percentage before I change stem length? In my case, I don't change saddle, because this saddle is base point to optimize my position. It's important to change only one when I correct position, because I can't realize what is good when I change several part same time. It's scientific way. And also, I don't feel bad feeling during 200km bike ride with this saddle.
Recently, I changed my mind about shoes size. Actually, my foot is not wide, is narrow. But, toe is not narrow. Therefore I had to select wide type bike shoes. So, I knew by advice from foot rescue and observing in Art-Sports-Hibiya. It's true that arch is high. It's pity that sales assistant in Hibiya Art-Sport didn't suggestion to me from result of foot shape observation. I expected him to give correct advice me, because I saw running magazine about this shop.

Boeing 787 will be shipped out Feb 2010 to ANA and be used to service March 2010 in their web site. It is OK? Because first prototype has not flown until now. Usually, it needs one year to pass check of FAA. Therefore this schedule doesn't have enough margin. Especially they delayed first flight over than 1 year already.
There are other news. Continental airline will break away from Sky-team next October, and will accede to Star-Aliance as soon as possible. For us, it's good news. Because Continental airlines has direct flight between Hamburg and Newark in the USA. Thus we use them if we have international meeting in American blanch office. And SAS will change their milage rule. SAS didn't charge mile if flight is domestic in Norway and Sweden till last January, because Nordic and Swedish government requested. But now, it's possible to charge.
