Grey’s Anatomy (31/05/2008)
Miriam asked me about it in the Zurich airport when we were waiting aboard. Yes I know. Is it broadcasted by pro Sieve? And also Wowow is broadcasting it in Japan. She showed me one screen shot.
There is OLS3000 that is laser scanning microscope and was designed optics by me. As Miriam suggested this is designed for material science not medical and biology. But, it is important in TV drama. They needs only exterior of microscope. And also it is easy to rent this microscope for our USA office. So, my design products debut for American famous TV drama now. Should be, I cared this one, because this is first lot may be.
Today, I took test of TOEIC. But! There was not any person in English school when I went to there as appointment time. I waited and called phone, but nobody had response. So I took message in the phone and remain my business card with message “I’m waiting front of your English School, Please contact me!” After shopping, I went to English school again, then there was one person. So I explain to him that I’d like to tale test of TOEIC and I have appointment today. He said that one person, who was contacted by me, was ill last week, therefore he doesn’t know about it. So it is tough to take test of TOEIC in Europe that is not regular because many European colleagues don7t know it, this is American standard.
That was just on time for me to finish reading part. It wasn’t enough time when I took test of TOEIC 12 years before. And It is better because I know many sentence and issues as working by English, for example, there are many business issues, travel expense, shipping management.
Regarding this accident, I went to shopping to buy new shoes. This new shoes is better to reduce baggage when I will go for Japan as business trip. Shop worker of the Ecco is very kindness for me. They helped to fit shoes to me. Even German, discount shop is not helpful to fit shoes.
I count my shoes in my flat. There are total 20 set of shoes. I have many brown shoes to wear in office, and make rotation to keep conditions. But are there many shoes, even it includes 3 bicycle shoes, 2 running shoes and 1 tennis shoes?

I7ve returned. There were many people, professor, researcher, our sales rep and competitors. I couldn’t recognize who are our sales reps. I had lunch with young researcher. Actually, he is Timo Zimmerman who is very famous biology researcher. I thought that Zimmerman is old researcher, but actually he is very young, he looks same age as me. He knows me and asked me if I studied German. Why does he know me?
Last night, we had official dinner at very special restaurant that is used to take cinema. Then Buelent asked me “I have to attention for my behavior at meeting in Japan? Because I think that European procedure is strong for Japanese” I answered “no problem. Please do as your daily way. From my request, please speak easy English. Sometimes I have to check spell if you uses difficult word” “And you can imagine Japanese behavior, one of our Japanese colleague is typical Japanese in his behavior” Buelent said “I talked him only 5 times last 1 and half year. 5 times talk were only “Hello”” Really? I think it is big problem. Because one of purpose of Japanese colleagues is make partnership with not only customer but also colleagues in Europe.
And he asked me “What is he doing office? I can not imagine his job” I feel this sometimes. I asked him directly. So it is easy to explain what I do. Because of I’m optical engineer. Therefore many people can imagine what I can for them. Of course, many questions will focus on me.

In this morning training was light one.
Can you look stripe? There was bottom of sea many years ago. There is about 1500m high.
Can you imagine by this picture that here is Switzerland? I asked one researcher, who is Swiss and come from EMBL. He said “10 Years ago, Subaru was not popular. But it is very popular because 4 wheel drive. And also Swiss thinks only performance, because there is not any car manufacture in Switzerland.”

Night poster session with dinner finished. For me, this academicals meeting is good. Because of Aural session, work shop and poster session are totally separated in time schedule. Sometimes, I had to check time schedule in general academicals meeting to look every interested objectives. So business trip is not easy even go to academicals meeting. But it is easier than taking care medical doctors. Because, it is basic procedure to give and take between researcher and manufacture in scientific area.
I was surprised that Miriam knows one researcher who I'd like to contact to him. Because they were in Max Plank in Goettingen, I forgot that Miriam is in lab of Prof. Hell!
By the way, this beer was made by highest beer brewery.
There is one text "Last Beerstop before Heaven" I've used only 2 Swiss Flan to buy m&m in Switzerland. Of course, I work from 8:30 in the morning to 9 in the evening.

By the way, why there are so many Subaru cars? There is one Subaru par 10 or 20 cars. I've seen only 10 Subaru cars in Hamburg. May be, 4WD is better for Switzerland? And also, Hamburg is neighbor of Volksburg which is head quarter of Volks Wagen.

I asked to Zeiss when I visited their room to look their products if they had their straps. But it is not available. It's pity.

It is very interesting page! Especially, it matches to me "Don’t expect Tokyo local guy to show sight seeing point in Tokyo" I totally agree! I've never gone for Harajuku, Sugamo and Asakusa, where are very famous sights seeing spot in Tokyo. I have few experience to pass Harajuku, I didn't look any more in that time. I think this is typical procedure of local guy. Have you ever gone for sight seeing point in your town? And also, I've never gone for Tenmonkan, which is famous shopping street in Kagoshima, because I move to grandmothers house as soon as possible when I arrive Kagoshima and relax in her house. May be, my friend looked more sight seeing point in Kagoshima than me as tourist.
In this case, it is same as Japanese colleague in Hamburg. Many colleagues don't go and crime St Michael church. But many traveler and visitor go for there. And don't ask how about hotel in Hamburg to us. Because we never stayed in hotel in Hamburg.
There were stupid rules for Japanese colleagues. "We have to go for Neuevanschtain castle before go for out of Germany as personal trip" May be, this rule was based on in house colleagues, because there was few technical guy. Especially technical guy is not in house activity, we have to go many place. Especially, our customer, medical doctor and researcher are in Hospital, University and research institute which is located in local area and is not explain travel guide book.
By the way, my parents are traveling in Europe from last Sunday. I suggested them to bring shirts for 1 day when I was informed about their schedule. Because of they did transit at Heathrow airport from ANA to BA only 2 hours. Actually, there was lost baggage. They could get their bag this evening.
Someone say to me that I'm alarmist. But this is my way and my family way. May be, the person, who said to me like this, angry if he faces trouble without any preparation. At least, my parents enjoy traveling Europe without shirts. Therefore I'm happy.

I looked this program today. Possibly, it was better to not translate to German. But I can hear English as background. For me it is familiar than American English even British accent. Because of British people doesn't cut out to say each sentence like American.
It was interesting that Williams formula 1 team uses left hand steering dangler. Their priority is continental. There were many befogged images because gear box is top secret for them in competition.
I watched Montevallo grand prix today. It is first time to look FA in this year. I don't like current Formula 1 machine, because there are so many wings to get down force in current technical regulations. My favorite racing machine is Jaguar XJR14 of course Silk Cut collar is best. How beautiful exterior if current technical regulation stop?

I watched one TV program in NHK educational channels. It was program for road race. Then there were so interesting and important suggestions.
1) Jump over blockade if you find it.
2) Practice to touch wheel and wheel.
May be, it is impossible to show this practice, because it is too dangerous. But it is important to get skill to ride in pack of bicycles. So, I did to training it in elementary school age. Of course, please do it your own risk.
Running in business trip (24/05/2008)
Strong merit is that I don't get bored with changing speed of scene. And also it is good training to improve my orientation performance. Because of I have to go objective and have to back to Hotel without any map. I will do it as my custom from now. By the way, pictures in London were acquired before 7 in the morning.
In the UK, we collect many coins. Because of I charge my money to visitor card to pay lunch every day in cancer research Center London UK. And I have to return card every day. It means that I have to refund money every day. So, I7ve got many coins. At once I asked to reception "Is it possible to keep visitor card until I'll left?" but it is not acceptable for them.
I have many envelopes that keep bill and coin without Euro. So I have to pick up envelope for Switzerland, because I will go there from next Tuesday.

I backed to Hamburg list night. Hotel in the London was 180 pounds per night this week. Therefore I called our travel agent when we could recognize that is possible to back to Hamburg early. The answer was that economy class was full booked, but business class was available. So I compared with additional charge for business class 110 Euro and hotel charge. Therefore we backed to Hamburg by business class.
The business class in European region is not good as international flight between Japan and Europe. Because of the seat is same as economy class. So difference is food service and seat pitch.
I expected to look Airbus A380 at Heathrow airport, because Singapore airline uses A380 for flight to the Heathrow. But it was not A380 and was Boeing 747. May be, A380 will not come to Hamburg if Fly Emirates doesn't use for Hamburg. I expect that I can look Boeing 787 as fleet of Air Berlin. When will it do first flight?
This is signing that offer room to let. American English uses "For rent", But British English uses "To Let" I and Michael misunderstood why there are many toilets?

I wet to Trafalgar Square. It looks running series in the morning. Today is final day, because we reduce installation plan. We can back to HH today evening. Next week. I will go for Davos Switzerland. Is there any special place?
Basically I came as helper. Of course, my task in this week is final decision of performance of our products in technically. But Other Japanese colleague does main installation issues. And also, I don't have licence of installations. Someone said to me "Do you need special licence? Because you design it" I agree. Of course I have free hand if there is not any specifications and descriptions, then I have to do final decisions. But my knowledge is focus on optics mainly. Is it OK?
But it is better to offer for technical guy, because he can do faster than me. Of course, I have to do if it is proto type products.
I translate my daily that is not translated to English until now. Because I'm in England now!

This is famous monument track 9-3/4. At first I couldn't find it, so I asked worker in the station. He answered that it is in neighbor of track 9. I didn't know actual track number, because I've read books and watched movies of Hally potter. The cart in the picture is one of monument, because it is fixed on the wall.

I ran the side way of Themes River. I’d like to look London City because I’vet never looked there even I went to London 7 times until now. So I bring my running shoes to the London. Is it like one issue in the business magazine “Good business man…”
I had time to use for myself in the yesterday morning. So I went to HMV before go to customer site. And also I went to Hotel to check in. Because there is important policy “Hotel is important than dinner”
I bought DVD of Japanese cinema. It helps to me to study English, Because I can watch English subtitles with both of Japanese and English mode. And also, it is important to bring Japanese culture to my flat. I will stay in Germany 4 or 6 years, and also, I don’t have any my baggage in Japan. So it is not same situation as go to foreign country only 2 years and stay with host family.

Yamaha was finished as 1,2 and 3 position in yesterday Moto GP in France. I can not look that Rossi make 3 seconds advantage because it was CM time in Euro sports program. I hope that he will get title in this year.
I ride bicycle in the morning to relax my muscle because I had hard training yesterday at Elbe River area. And I searched root to training when weather is not good.
It’s pity that I will not able to look one TV program “The factory” that is focus on factory of William’s formula 1 team. It will be in next Wednesday. I will be in London. Is it possible to look Euro sport without German translate?

Recently, I feel strange when I look a picture that is used in Japanese bicyclist diary. Because of it is left hand traffic. So my brain confused because it is right hand traffic in European continental.
Therefore, I adjust to look left side when I have to check back of mine in Europe. At first, it is difficult to check from left side. Because of my body is not used to look by left side. Please try it in Japan!

I could ride bicycle in the morning before it begins to rain. My feeling for weather is improving step by step like in Japan. So today I went to one point that is far away from my flat about 25 km. So I had to think about how weather would change today. It is very important performance for road bike.
My theme in today is that I never remove shoes from pedal. It is succeeded today. So I could train of standing still when I stopped by red signal.

I went to bakery shop that is neighbor of my flat to by break fast. Then one lady who works in this shop spoke Japanese! She said that she studied Japanese little bit. Therefore, she asked me yesterday “Sind sie Japan? (Are you Japanese?)” I surprised because she said Japanese suddenly “OK will you buy additional this one?”
So it is better to speak filthy Japanese in train. Because of some European people can understand Japanese sometimes. I had one experience. One European people answered by Japanese when I asked him how buy train ticket by automatic machine in Vienna.
Now, I can answer “Ich kan spreche Deutsche night, Aber Ich studire Deutsche jetzet!” So it is easy to study English in the UK or USA if he graduates junior high school or high school. Because he can read word in English spoken countries. It is easier than other foreign languages.
TV conference (15/05/2008)
We discussed some issues by TV systems with Tokyo side. And my predecessor will come to Hamburg, he will explain about some issues and he and our side will have TV conference next day with Tokyo. But I will be in Tokyo in these days as business trip. So I will participate in this meting in the Tokyo, if it’s possible.
I imagine that it will be tough to translate English to Japanese when I heard by TV. And also it is difficult to correct our side procedure, because I'll not be side by side with my European colleagues.
Unexpected questions (14/05/2008)
has come to me. Because expected question doesn't need to ask to me. Sales rep can answer it. Now I’m doing maintenance chart which optical elements can use for each objective lens. It is easy if you pick up from brochure. But it is not easy to pick up configurations that are not written in brochure, but it is possible to use if I think as optical engineering point of view. It is tough because our company produce so many products. It means that the number of configurations is over than thousand.
And there was one question. It was good timing. Because these answer is in chart when I was doing maintenance that time.
Flight to Japan (13/05/2008)

I requested at least isle side. And also it is better to get exit row or bulkhead positions because I can relax with wide leg space. My confirmed seat was last low. So it is one of best. Because of I will not afraid backside passengers.
And someone talks to me about lounges. Is it good as you suggestion? It is possible to eat and drink without any additional charge. But total cost is cheap if you don’t use money for mileage runs, and use this money to eat and drink out of lounges. And also it is not free to use wireless LAN in Europe. So my priority of higher membership is possible to use priority counter in urgent case and baggage weight limitation.
I did second times to run 10 km
But it is tough because the scenery doesn't change dramatically like a bicycle. This is one of big problem of me.
Today is general holiday in Germany. I relaxed in my flat, because I tired. But I run 10 km in the evening. Next general holiday in Germany will be 3rd of October. There will not be any holiday without Sunday and Saturday.
I upped data of Nike+ today. It was 20m longer than longest data before. I think he is great who thought that there is possibility to observe running data with easy acceleration sensor. My be, other engineer said at first “It is tough”

This is Neighbor City of Kiel.
My purpose was U-boat. So I couldn’t reach this point the next day of I drove my car in Europe about 2 years ago. Today, I could follow my position by myself. It is not big even there was over 40 officers.
Actually, I’d like to get navigation system for car. How about is it? I’m afraid that my brain will not work, because someone who uses navigation system in Japan doesn't think where I am. Their brain freeze.
Maximum speed today was 200km/h. it is tough to accelerate over 190km/h for my car. The capacity of engine of my car is only 1600cc. So it is not big. But it is enough.
And also I went to Danish by my car. It is first time for my car. I couldn't pass boarder when I went there 1st time, because I had not got European drivers licence that time. It is interesting, because all caution indicators change Danish from German when I passed boarder. And also maximum speed in Danish is 130km/h, it is not same as Germany.

I’vet got new record for 5km running by 22 minutes 30 seconds. I will up date if I record something new. But it is not enough to get higher than 3hours for full marathon even this pace. I have to improve my speed as 20 minutes for 5km. Is it possible?

Giro de Italia is not topic in Germany now. I looked only Euro sports as attention of it. I forgot to start Giro today until I looked team time trial today.
I rode bicycle in the morning. I'm afraid to break my knee because I start to run. Therefore I used only inner chain ring today even 35 km/h veracity.
One woman calls me at petrol station. She could speak English. Her MTB doesn't have enough air in the tire. But she couldn't charge air at petrol station. Because of her MTB uses French type valve. So, I charged air for her. She asked me if it was possible to buy it at shop, and she will go to Vlanekenese.
She said “It’s cool” when I bring my pump from special type case for pump and tools. Thank you. So it is my idea.
And I went to Waseberg and back to my house. Waseberg is special point, because surface of it is not flat, and also grade is 15%. So I need power to clime Waseberg. Other claim point is easy, because surface is flat.

Martin asked me about one technical problem. He said “One Italian customer asked me what is wrong in this plot. We can not judge it, because information is poor from him. And also Italian sales rep brings this problem suddenly. Before sold our system, we talked him that is not our side problem… It is Italian” I see. I feel it is typical Italian behavior. As I wrote before, One Italian sales rep calls me by telephone “There is problem, we can not find what is wrong. This problem needs optical engineer” And he send full microscope set up to me. I found what is wrong in this system only 1 minute without set up. It was very easy mistake. But why our sales service rep couldn’t find it?
So there are strong antagonism between Italia and Germany. I wonder why Italy and Germany make an ally at 2nd world war.

I7ve try to do 2nd dimension convolution calculation by the Excel. But it is tough. Therefore I’vet do this calculation by macron on the optical software. Is it possible to do it buy macro in the Excel?
10km by running! (07/04/2008)
Today, I could run 10km by 50 minutes! I cleared one of objectives! So, I updated Nike+ data today. Other objective is tough; I need more training step by step. Of course my main purpose is bicycle.
Yesterday, German teacher said that next Sunday and Monday are holidays in Germany. But there is problem. Because of next Sunday is mother’s day. But flower shop will have to close because of holiday. So many children will not able to buy flower for mother on next Sunday! So, flower shops claimed to German government. But decision is “No”. So German will have to buy flower next Saturday for mother.
After back home (06/05/2008)
I did run training. It was 5km by 24 minutes. So I’m improving my performance day by day. My first objectives are “10km running” and “5km running by 20minutes”
By the way, my salary slightly decreases this year even my salary in Japan increases. Because, there is one calculation that compare with japans and Germany’s cost of living. At 2006, tit increased in Japan, but it is so-so in Germany. So, my salary in Euro is decreased. I heard that salary of all Japanese colleagues slightly decreased this year. I don’t use my salary in Hamburg. Because of allowance for business trip is too much for me to living in Hamburg.
How to ride bike on the cobble road (05/05/2008)
I wrote Mr. Nakano’s Blog today. That suggests how to ride bike on the cobble road. So my way is not wrong. Actually, it is best way to ride bike on the long cobble road.
I’d like to participate in event of tour de Flanders next year. I have one schedule already that is optical academic meeting in Krakow Poland next April. So I can not decide now if it was possible to go to Belgium next spring. I hope that date of both is not same.
By the way, Wolfgang bought new road bicycle. It is Botechia with Campagnolo Veroche. It is good bike! The problem was shipment needed about 2 months. So he said “It is same situation as your PC”
I asked him this morning if he rode bike last week end. May be he rode same place as me.

At Chinese grand prix of Moto GP! I looked it when I was preparing to start bike training this morning. I think that I have to walk 10 km before to try running 10km. So I tried to walk 10km in this evening.
I found mini car when I walk in evening. And this is my favorite melon ice cream.
These are cobble road. First one is not real cobble road for European people. Because of this is bicycle lane. So this road is default for European bikers. Second is typical cobble road in Germany. This is front of my flat. On this road, Handle vibrates with high frequency. Last one is one of strong cobble road. I know worst one. This is not worst.
I think it is better that my weight is on the rear wheel and never grip handle strongly. If handle vibrate, you can go strait with best balance. Of course power is most important.
It is sunny day. And also, it was sunny day in yesterday. I felt that I will hunger knock if I don’t have any foods for 1 hour. So I thought where shops from here are nearest foods. Nearest shop is about 6km far away. If I return to direction for my home, I need to ride bike about 10km for next foods shop. So I went to nearest one.
From Hamburg, you can go to no shop area if you ride 5km . I think this is same situation as Doshi-michi or Naguri. So European bikers have to think how foods they have, how far from nearest shop, how about my performance is, how about weather. Is So, European pro road race is very strong!
Earpiece mania? (03/05/2008)
It was 5 degree in the morning even it was 20 degree at lunch time. So I need long sleeve wear until now.
I bought new earpiece for running. The left one is new one. The right one is my favorite earpieces. It has good performance to best wear to my ears. New one has also good performance when I check it in the evening walking.
By the way, these are my running shoes. I bought left one in Germany, and bough t right one in Japan. Right one is more expensive than left one in each market. But, actually, right one is inexpensive than left one. Left one is about 80 euro. But right one is about 10,000 yen (about 70 Euro) so, price in Japan is more cheep than other countries.
Bridge Day (02/05/2008)
There are only few people. Because of many people takes holiday today. Therefore, apparatus in demonstration room is free, so I played it this morning. Because of I'd like to study new function of software. Of course it is impossible to improve my knowledge of software to same as optics which was designed by me. But I think that I have to improve my knowledge as possible to explain about functions to customer. English people say "Play" in this situation. It is same as Japan in technological area.
In the evening, I left office at 4 PM. Because of I'd like to go to IKEA to shopping today. After then I run this evening. It was 7km by pace of 5 minutes for 1km.
Now, My body is remembering how to running day by day as high school age. I think it is better to not shrink body to avoid shock to organ and legs. So, I can run today with 5 minutes per 1km pace without any stress for legs and breathe. So I will get far distance by this pace.
Andreas said that the running ware is better impression by his son. That ware is printed Japanese anime character "Juurenjaa".

between train and platform. This is Picadery line goes to the Heathrow terminal 1,2,3&5. I feel that it is same as Japanese train in the underground of London city. I recognized all announce of it. In Germany, there is only announcing of station. There are English announce in the Hamburg and Munich. But there is not any English announce at Düsseldorf. I think big different is that Hamburg and Munich held football world cup in 2006. Martin said that there is many English announce in Japan after Nagano winter Olympic games. By the way, there is not any announce even station at underground in Paris.
This picture is special for my friend Mr. Terayama. Nike wear is possible to include iPod in the special pocket. This pocket is match for 1st and 2nd generation iPod nano. I recommend that it is better to buy front open type wear. I bought this in Japan last month.
Nike uses Lance Armstrong as personality of Nike+ in Europe. Can you look I that am reflected by glass?
There are many demonstrations by labor because today is Mayday. I went to training of bicycle in the morning today. There were many policemen when I backed to neighbor of my flat.
And I went to walking in the evening. Then I took picture of today's demonstration broachers. I think it is objection for Neo Nati. So there were many policeman.
