In Japan (30/04/2008)
It is impossible to buy Nike Amp+. But, I upped date new information. Should be, Nike SportBand will be launched in Japan next month. Will not Amp+ be launched in Japan even instruction manual include Japanese page?
I read instruction manual today. It is possible to know distance, time and speed if I push button of opposite side of time button. And it is possible to pause and restart if I push center button. It means that I don’t need to touch iPod nano if I have Amp+. It is very useful for me.
And also the wear, which I bought it in Japan, is better for my 1st age iPod nano. Today I can run 5km with 24 minutes 30 seconds. Should be I will not up date Nike+ data without any new record.
Tomorrow is general holiday as Mayday in Germany. It means any shop will not open and I will not able to wash my shirt and clean my room with noise. I will relax in my room.
I went to Munich today (29/04/2008)
There was one of sales rep, who comes from France in advance of tomorrow’s customer demonstration. And he showed his PC. It is very interesting. Because of some keys are opposite side as Japanese PC. For example, Q-A, W-Z and M are right side of L. May be, it is impossible to use this PC for many Japanese. So this kind of difference is stress to live in foreign countries. I think USA is easy, because many kind of issue is same as Japan TV-system, voltage etc,
I like driving style in Germany. It is same as my style. Because of I like stick shift car. So the timing of brakes and accelerations are same as me. And also it is better that only few car uses smoke type of windscreen.
By the way, many Japanese said “Koshu-kaido between Chohu and Tachikawa is narrows as 2 lanes” But sometimes there is narrower road as 2 lanes in Hamburg. I feel now that the Koshu-kaido is 2.5 lanes. German drivers drive very smoothly in this road. German biker rides bicycle as same as to drive car. I think Japanese rider is noisy and their signals are much as only Japanese local rules.

I will go to Munich by Air-Berlin. This year, I’ve take in Lufthansa only go to Japan. Of course, I’m member of Air-Berlin membership. So I will charge mileages and use it to travel in Germany.
I looked Hamburg marathon at course side in the morning, and watched Liege Bastogne Liege, and run little bit. So I relaxed in my flat today. I feel tired, because there were many business trip and care if Japanese visitors.
Before pick up Japanese visitor in Hotel (26/04/2008)
I checked front of city hall. There is not any event of marathon. May be, main event area is in Hamburg Messe. There is not any traffic limitation today; therefore I could bring Japanese visitors to the airport with my expected time.
I start to use new running shoes, which I bought it in Japan. It is Nike product. I bought it the Artsport. At first I tried 4E version. But it was wide for me. I asked shop worker “May be, it is too wide for me, and my leg will move in shoes” So She select other type and size. It is very good for my leg. Should be, it is better to buy shoes in Japan.
One of Japanese visitor has experience to come to Hamburg. But it was about 10 years ago. So we have to pick up them. If he is marketing or sales person, we will not go to pick up them to airport. Because of there is Taxi in the airport.
I read bicycle magazines in Japan (25/04/2008)
But I didn’t buy any bicycle magazines. It was not interesting. Why all bicycle magazines have same special topics? I asked to Wolfgang “There are 3 big bicycle magazines in Japan. Can you imagine all of them have same special topics in each month?” His answer is “Impossible” It means editors are same as each magazine.
I will bring Japanese visitors to Hamburg airport. If it is Sunday, there will be traffic limitation in Hamburg city because there will be Hamburg marathon. So it is good to bring them on Saturday.
Future Day (25/04/2008)
Today is future day in Germany. Many kids come to our office. At first it was “Girls day” Girl went to office of her farther and knew his job. But many boys claimed to it. Why I didn’t’ realize it last year? May be I was not in office last year. Because of there were many business trips to go for academicals meeting in last April.
English PC (24/04/2008)
I bought it; it takes long time to ship out. But many Japanese colleagues, who are in USA now, or who was in USA in the past, can not understand what I said. They said “It is possible to change settings to indicate and input Japanese. I think it is out of mind for them that we can not understand language in the OS. Because of they can buy English OS easily. They can not imagine German OS and it is difficult to buy English OS at shop in the city in Germany. USA is, other hand it is only one kind of narrow market. Why can’t they imagine it is tough to buy English OS in Japan? It is same situation in Germany. May be, American in Japan can understand this issue.
And also, they don’t know there is difference between UK and USA keyboard. Because of Japanese key board is basically same as USA key board. I know German, Belgian, Spanish and Russian is not same as USA type. Therefore there is many kind of key board for each language. Japan and USA is same as many issues, for example electric consent, TV color type, voltages etc.
There was one person, who believe that baby will able to have German citizenship automatically if he born in Germany. It is rule of only the USA. So, USA standard is not world standard. If his parents pay tax over 5 years, and if he can speak German very well (It means there is examination of German), he can get German citizenship.
And then? I went to buy new DVD player to the electric shop which is front of central station. I have to buy multi region and multi color type DVD player. I asked shop worker “Is there DVD player which is possible to look DVD, which come from USA?” He said “This one” “OK….. Only this one?” “Yes only this one” So, there was only one selection. But it was cheap, it was only 30 Euro.
And I bought two CD in Japan only looking jacket like a Yumi Tanimura. These are MEG and Uri Nakayama. But it is not good for me. I like YUI, which is not look only jacket, because I know her as one drama in Japan. I like one song ♪We will go♪
The terminal 5 (23/04/2008)
I back from London via Heathrow 5th terminal. It is quite new which opened end of last March. But, we had to walk long distance to reach baggage claim area. Martin and I talked “May be airplane is opposite side of this wall” And security check was too late. Because there are many Japanese women who had to check baggage by open it. Some items which was sold in Narita airport free tax shop is impossible to bring European flight.
In this case, flight was on time. So, I didn’t have enough time to watch newest terminal. I looked only CD shop HMV. This shop is same as old 1st terminal. Should be, I will have to go to London once again. So I will check HMV in the London city. Free tax shop in Heathrow is good, but totally best airport is Munich terminal 2nd for me.

We changed the flight to British airway. It means we will arrive to terminal 5 in Heathrow airport. It is newest terminal! If there will be one Japanese whiskey “Yamazaki” I will buy it and bring it to Japan as souvenir for my parents.
Writing request has come (21/04/2008)
I received it when I back to Hamburg. Because of I participated in lecture of this technology, and also I write one text for technical magazine. I checked request, but I can not write about these technology. So I answered to editor that I can not write it.
This request fixed dead end already. In my mind, it is better to ask possibility at first, and request dead end. Why he request to me suddenly? And also I’ve never met him. It looks order from above. It is basically behavior of mass communication business?
As above order, I had one experience to go to one company in Oxford, Japanese visitor said “What would you like to do with us” This meeting is held as our request. Why do you ask to them like this? Most strong above request was other one. One friend requested me “I’d like to look AAA, please bring me to AAA” It needs to wake up very early; therefore I woke up 5 o’clock and bring my friend. Then my friend said “What would you like to show me?” It was unbelievable. Why do you ask me what you requested to look it? May be my friend will angry if I do same procedure to my friend. May be my friend is as usual to get someone from other one. It is not good as adult person. It is child behavior.
Girl pop (20/04/2008)
One Japanese colleague lent me some CD, which are ZABADAK and Kami. Because of he looked list in my iPod touch. It is difficult to say my feeling. It is not my favorite type songs. He don’t know recent my favorite songs are Bonnie Pink’s “Love is bubble”, “Tonight The night”, “Perfect Sky” and “1,2,3”, all of Ruriko Kubo and Yaida Hitomi’s “Teddy and mama”. These songs are out of imagining for him.
I don’t have all CD of Bonnie Pink. I like her songs and voices.
The meeting was too tough. At last one boss in Japan side said “You are Japanese, even you are in Europe” It is Japanese mind. We have to say every thing we feel strange in this meeting. If you’d like to finish meeting without any suggestion from us, it is better to send final decision by e-mail, and also Japan side have to see to all of result.
Of course, I correct direction of discussion, if it will go to wrong direction or discuss only details. But I don’t correct others. Japan side has to know how European thinks it and imagine it.
Therefore, I hope next meeting in Japan in June. Martin and I will go. It means that not only Martin explains but also I will explain many things as local sales divisions. For me, it is easy to translate Martin’s English, because I know how Martin think and speak. Mr. Kitagawa said “For other Japanese, English of Martin is difficult to understand, because his voice is hollow.”
And, it was canceled to visit our customers in the UK. Because of Japanese visitor have to back to Japan as soon as possible. But we will go to the UK. For me it helps, because we changed schedule to go to London to Tuesday.

Mr. Tamori is one of sponsor of it. Andreas requested to go to it to Mr. Kitagawa. He said “This is easy way to attend for foreign visitors” Because of we don’t have to speak English when there is Jazz concert.
And I finished many issues for my family and myself. I will back to Hamburg tomorrow.
Japanese text wear (18/04/2008)
I bring Andreas to the sport wear shop in Shinjuku. He found one Japanese wear as Adidas Bundes republic for running. It is 20 Euro. I didn’t check Adidas.

K “Titan ball is in this necklace. These balls give power as negative ions. It is about 20 Euro. And other maker SEV sells 150 Euro necklaces
P “Why Ion gives power? I will do training as normal”
K “Totally I agree. May be cost price is about 1 Euro, will we start business like this?”
So it looks strange for him, even me, it I strange.
I will participate in one workshop in Heidelberg, which will be held by EMBL (European Molecular Biological Laboratory, There is free tax in this area as special area for EU) and German Cancer Research Center. And also he will participate in. It looks nice for me.

1. Stand right side of escalator in Narita airport. UK is same as European continental.
2. Check back side if there was other person.
3. Keep open door if there is other person even 3m behind.
4. Strong eye point.
5. Search button which control open door in the train.
6. Go to toilet at each point.
7. Cross road for walker if car comes in.
8. Explain something’s in the meeting.
I asked German colleagues “Who is typical Japanese as you think in Japanese colleague?” I get some answers, and agree about it. Main characteristics are as below.
1. Can not answer as Yes or No. It is not same to Yes and No as explain only his suggestion.
It is behavior if he asked “Which do you select?” So it is worst cases that explain own suggestion and don’t answer to question.
2. Continue meeting without decision.
3. Don’t explain own opinion with little smile.
Therefore, 3 optical guys in Europe are not typical Japanese. And also American optical guy is not, because they are crazy.

The meeting finished early today, it was unexpected for me. The dinner started from 8 o’clock because they went to their own shopping. And also I did my shopping and searched Japanese text sport wear.
Gunnar asked me where is available wall around kitchen. At first I couldn’t’ understand his question. It is aluminum wall for gas kitchen. His wife is Japanese, so she would like to use it. Ummm. It is difficult to buy in Shinjuku area. It is sold in typical Japanese super market. It is better to go to other area which is in 2 or 3 stops from Shinjuku. And I asked him where is available good cake shop in Hamburg like Japan? His answer is “No chance” Ah so.

I looked one location front of buildings of Tokyo metropolitan government. Is she Kou Shibasaki? So I walked around Shinjuku area. I met one Japanese colleague who was my boss in Europe.

I forgot souvenir for development division in the train. I recognized it in taxi to R&D from Hachioji station. There are many dinner and drink party in the night. Yesterday, I could use my time to meet friend and there were good dinner. I need at least once to use time for myself. Because of I have to care German colleagues. It is stress because I can’t use my time even I am in Japan.
Many Japanese said “Can you eat Fish?” But I can eat fish, because German colleague like fish especially Sushi. So it is tough to eat pork if I come to Japan with German colleague. So it’s pity that I can not eat Okinawa style foods or Tonkatsu with German colleagues. And also, I eat Inari-sushi when I eat dinner only me.
And I run every morning in Japan. Morning is better than evening, because I don’t feel tire in my legs when I wake up. Of course, I use Nike+ but I don’t install iTunes to my business PC. Therefore I will up date after back to Hamburg.
Rather than American (14/04/2008)
We European had dinner with American last night. They are not silent in dinner. But they were silent in the meeting. I think European people have strong opinion rather than American. So, 70% of discussion in the meeting was our side suggestion. It was tough to translate.
I run in the gymnastics of Hotel, because it was rain in this morning. Nile+ didn’t work. I changed sleep mode when I packed it in Hamburg, because it is radio apparatus that is limited to use in airplane. I missed to understand wake up is same as sleep. So I pushed button 3 seconds. It is not same. I need to push only once. By the way, room running machine is not same feeling as real running. I think it is good training to run by my self. Room runner is better to train to get speed.
In the Hamburg airport (13/04/2008)
There was trouble. There was not my booking when I tried to check in counter. Worker said that my booking is tomorrow. I checked confirmation from our travel agent. But it is correct that my booking is today. I went to ticket office and change my booking to today without additional charge. It is real reason why I did mileages run last year. I can use business class counter when I face urgent situations.
But, I couldn’t confirm my seat in Hamburg airport. I had to confirm it in Frankfurt. I requested to get isle side seat at Frankfurt. Service person said “It is possible. But there are baby. Is it acceptable for you?” My answer is “It is good, no problem” I talked with German colleagues “may be he is silent than Wolfgang” Actually, baby is very silent. And also there is bulkhead seat, so I could use wide space.
Andreas bring additional baggage. So I asked him about it. He showed me Roller brade! I suggested him take care Japanese traffics. Because Japanese driver is not gentle like as German driver in the traffics.

I relaxed my leg after breakfast. I will go fro Japan as business trip. May be, I will be able to get platinum states in this year.
By the way, the UK is important country for pathology. So I looked pictures which are observed by German colleague. What is this? I understand that is Wales’s languages. All indication is written by English and Wales. It is first time to look it.
I will go to Japan. I will run even in Japan, because I bring my running shoes to avoid jet lug.
Boeing 787 (11/04/2008)
It still delays. I can not understand that Boeing can not do first flight next May when is confirmed date with ANA as shipment. May be, Boeing will pay money to ANA as delay.
I think that ANA will buy Airbus A380 without any situation of Boeing 787. Because of one person in Hamburg office of ANA said that booking is full in any flight between Tokyo and Germany now. But there is not any additional capacity in Narita and Frankfurt airport. So ANA and Lufthansa need big size airplane for long distance connections.
Unexpected income (11/04/2008)
This is possible and available for engineer. It is patent. Today I got one question. Then I said that it is better to look one drawing that is in patent which is written by me. So, patent is one of good engineering text. And I found other patent when I search on patent. It is written for one technology that helps illumination. I hope this technology will be used in wide range area. It means patent licence fee will come to me.
But, my first priority is not money. Is it 2nd? 1st priority is interest for technology. And I hope that other engineer said “It’s good idea. It’s simple. So it is tough to find countermeasure of it”
It is rain today, therefore I didn’t’ ride bike today. Should be, I will bring my running shoes to Japan.
Many person has come (10/04/2008)
Because of Wolfgang arrange our company team for harbor marathon. I asked him how many people participant in? His answer is 70. I surprised the number of it. So I asked once again “Is it seven-Zero? Isn’t One-Seven?” I am only Japanese who answered without any delay to participate in it even I was registered automatically by Wolfgang. Actually, other Japanese will participate in it this year.
Wolfgang said “Japanese doesn’t answered with little smile. May be I will not ask to them even more.” So it is typical Japanese procedure who can not correct answer to questions with smile. Why don’t they participate in one event even they said “You have to participate in Softball”? I will do my way from now.
And I got new first 1km running record with relax feeling. It means that actual run is most important. Any fanatic tool doesn’t help me.

25 minutes for 5km. But first 1km record in today is firster than only 1km runnning yesterday. is it light? I had same experience like today, I had better record for 2nd lap in the 3rd lap trial was better than only 2nd lap trial at highschool life. I did my best in every situations.
is there one possibility that I will better recod in first 1000m of 4000m parsute than 1000m time trial? I'm afraid that it will be true for me.
By the way, i herad name of her trainer of miriam when she was Docter degree student. His name is Bert Sachman, he got Norvel prize in 1991 as development of electrical patch clamp method. So, miriam moved from heidelberg to gettingen in max Plank institute. She said prof. Sachman is tall and slip person. and other norvel prize resercher Prof Neher is not tall and wide person. So reserchers call them "Birt and Arney in the electrical physiology" It sounds nice.
Today, I checked reserchers and reserch area list of Norvel prize. Foe mr Physics is familier than chemistry or medical and biology.
Our optical guy is lazy (08/04/2008)
Wolfgang said to me. Then I answered "I agree, totally Yes!" Because he picked up one printed out mail from printer. This mail was send from me to Buelent, and Buelent printed out it. Exactly, I send this mail without subject.
I tryed to run 1km without walming up. It was tough. So, walming up is important. It was not good pace. How did I run as 4 minutes per 1km in high schoo age? But it was smooth running without shock to my legs in this pace. So I will do training.
For visitors (07/04/2008)
We had meeting about conference in next week. I will have to fix schedule of visitors from Tokyo. Actually, I will not be in Hamburg because I will participate in international meeting in Tokyo next week. So I'm preparing visitors instead of out of office. I've requested to visitors "Please go to hotel from hamburg airport by yourself. Please walk to the Office in the morning (I've booked Hotel that is in neighbor of our office) Please move to London on Saturday by yourself" It is normal way for business person, especially visitors are in international support divisions.
And my schedule fixed already to go to London the day after back to Hamburg. I will not use British Airway to avoid confused situation in newest 5th terminal in Heathrow airport. There are many lost baggages now. At first, I plan to use Stanstead airport, because we will go to Cambridge. But I will use Heathrow airport, because I will have to pick up visitors in London. This year, I use only Hamburg, Heathrow, frankfurt and Narita airport.
If you can ride on the stone-paved road (07/04/2008)
You can ride bicycle on the normal road easily. I felt these, because I ride bicycle on the stone-paved road yesterday to check actual distance for Nike+ and watched race of tour of Flanders. So, power is important for the stone-paved road. I never faced these strong stone-paved road in the Japan. Sometimes handle vibrate with high freqency. If you can ride straight on the stone-paved road, you don't need to do special training to ride bicycle in the pack. I thought German doesn't have special training to ride bicycle in the pack. But they have good skill to ride in the pack even normal rider, who doesn't have specail trainig of bicycle. Their skill is better than C class of JCRC.
And also they show minimum hand signal. I think Japanese rider is noisy and show many signal. I think it is too much. Because if rider looks forward direction by myself, he doesn't need many information from others. European rider does same procedure as driving a car in the pack of bicycle. So they don't do special procedure for the bicycle racing. If you think that you have to do special procedure in the pack of bicycle, you have to check your car driving procedure.
Actually, European driver checks everywhere around them, Especially they check right side when they will turn to the right, it is same situation as turning left in the Japan. There is one reason, because walker and bicycle rider think that car driver must stop if there is walker and rider on the cross road section. I think Japanese driver doesn't keep these procedure on the cross road section for walker without signal. Do you remain that rhombus mark on the road mieans that there will be cross road section for walker, please stop, if you find waler on the road and walkers they would like to cross road on the road side?
Today we had meeting until half passed 7 in the evening. So I didn't have training. It is good time to have the rest for the my legs.
Nike Amp+ (06/04/2008)
Let me explain report about Nike Amp+
At first, I had to observe size of my arm by using tape that is included in AMP+ instruction manual. And I cut band od Amp+, therefore it is not possible to use it for other person.
Nike+ receiver unit is neccesory to use Amp+ as remote controller, because receiver unit receive radio from Amp+. I had to setup procedure in nike+ menu in iPod nano. I couldn't controll iPod nano by Amp+ without this procedure. It is not necessory to do this procedure next time if I do setup procedure once. I can use Amp+ as remote controller immediately. Therefore, I think that there will not be conflict with other Amp+.
You can look current time if you push button that is rght side of belt. In the picuture, that was 6:45, it indicate 6 at first, and it indicate 45 as you can see.
It is confortable, because I don't have to touch iPod when I'd like to change volume or song. Possibly, it is best to controll iPod Touch. But now, IPod touch support Nike+.
I think that Nike+ is good product because we can know runnning speed and distance by these simple unit. The distance was same as cycle computer that was checked.

Let me explain about difference between friend and colleague to avoid misunderstanding. The trust is necessory with colleague than friend. We face them all day and talk many issue every day. So I feel that there is not trust with one word 'co-worker". I feel that there is trust with colleague. For me, colleague means that he is friend and also trust person. Of course, it depends on person.
American and European (05/04/2008)
One of my Japanese predecessor who was in Germany and also USA, said that "American is basically everybody wellcome" but "German or European is that they ask wht you can in our country" I think it is different between American and European in their mind.
Of course, situation is not same as Mr. Nakano who is masserger in profesional team LiquiGas. Because I'm Japanese in Japanese company even Germany. But I can understand his mind. As technitian or Enginner, we need atleast 1.5 or 2 years to get trust from European colleagues. I had to show my skill and knowledge by doing my job. They are colleague and is not friend at first. So, I think that there are differnt newance between collague and co-worker.
Other Japanse colleague who was also in the USA and germany both, said "Basically European admits different culture and try it, forexample japanese food" but "Some of American doesn't try it" Of course it is not totaly correct. But it looks fifferent between American and European when they face othe culture. I think that USA is basically one English world, but Europe is totaly different, for example we can go other language world by 2 hour car drive.
By tha way, Andreas request me to bring him to Japanese bicycle to get one bicycle wear that was printed with Japanese character. Is there any wear in bicycle shop?
I thoght yesterday that I will ride bicycle in the morning. But it is rain. Therefore I went for central station to shopping. And I run in the evening. It is same as abave. I do only run to improve my perfomance. I run and walked total 10km. My pace is stable about 5minutes for 1km.

I changed runnning style like fast walk today. The pace was not bad. In this case, I dodn't feel tough in my heart. But I feel that organ was shaked today. Now, my legs fit to shoes, and also shoes fit my legs.

I run today after work. It's good to have training in the evening, because it's ssummer time. I think it better to running this year, because weather changes time by time. For me, it's tough to my legs than heart. Today's pace was 25 minutes and 12 seconds for 5km. My perfomance is improving day by day. In my image, I'd like to run as "Statatata" But actualy it is "Dotadota" little bit. So I will do two type of training streach distance with this pace and improve speed in this distance. training and good sleep are important to improve my perfomance.

I write in diary on October 2006 that Belgium division manager Dirk was professional football player when he was young. And I knew great things about him. He was offered from one professional team that prepared for Champions league in Europe.
Wolfgang knew about it because Dirk talked it when they went to technical university of Munich for VIP customer demonstration. As you know, Alianz arena, that is home arena of Bayern Munich is neighbor of autobahn from Munich international airport. Then he said "There was possibility that I played here" He is good person. Finally, the offering money wasn't match his request, and he select to focus research and he got PhD in biology. I'm very happy to do job with him.
And also, northern Germany imaging specialist Helge was champion for 400m track in northern Germany. His looking is like Chipporini, and he has PhD also. And other colleague in It division participated in Deutschland tour 3 years before as individual cyclist. There are great person around me. I must do myself!
Today, I mistook to restart Nike+ when I stopped it because of signal stop. I lose 800m running. I'm improve my running performance day by day. because I'm remembering how to running over 1km. So important things is training step by step. It is good sign for me. And also, today, I'm happy.
Its rain in the evening (01/04/2008)
So, I can not run. I was in office until 8 o'clock, and I washed my training wear today. I'm happy because sunshine is 8 PM from today!
I talked with Martin about April fool. His son changed all clock to 1 hour early yesterday. his wife angry about it! I heard one issue from Wolfgang. I will write about it tomorrow. Please read this diary tomorrow! Because I'm afraid that nobody believe it.
